ALL ABOUT Teresa

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be an artist. At the time everyone assumed artist meant teacher or disney animator, rarely did anyone consider tattooing as a form of art. Despite having grown up in a family that lacked tattoos i was none the less fascinated by them. in high school i would draw ink pen sleeves on myself and even had a friend give me a henna ink back piece for my senior prom. i attempted to sell flash at a random tattoo convention in indiana when i was 17. though i attended art school in illinois as a painting/ceramics major i kept finding myself drawn to  tattoos. i would seek out summer jobs in small town parlors hoping someone would teach me in between semesters. when i finally found an apprenticeship a year after graduating college i was thrilled. my obsession with tattoos only grew.

I found my calling in large scale illustrative tattoos. Working best as a custom tattoo artist with a lot of freedom I developed a wonderful clientele based in earned trust through hard work. Upon discovering you could travel and tattoo nearly anywhere in the world i became enamored of guest spots and conventions. it was through travel and tattoos that i met some of my best friends and biggest inspirations in tattooing. I even had the privilege of completing multiple tattoo tours and winning first place on the tv reality show Best Ink.

After the competition, i truly felt my next step was to give back to this community that i came up in by opening a studio in Richmond, Virginia. Unkindness art was born october of 2015 and remains a huge priority in my life. Along side my ever growing portfolio of large scale illustrative tattoos me and my crew work extremely hard to nurture and grow a space that supports local up and coming artists while providing a safe and accepting space for all. We have now recently expanded and opened a goth boutique and micro gallery next door to the studio. Our new space Nevermore opened February 14th of 2025. We hope to see this space support makers and artists outside of tattooing along side Unkindness Art.

in conclusion, I absolutely LOVE what I do and I am always thankful that I have such amazing clients who trust me to put my art forever on their skin. While I am very booked with an ever growing list of projects and ideas I still open my books for smaller projects from time to time. please subscribe for more information about scheduling, openings, and other art related offerings and events. xo-Teresa
